Our 3D prints are ideally suited for finishing with Chrome. This type of finish is suitable, for example, for works of art, trophies & awards, specials, car parts, exhibitions and other eye-catchers. Chrome spraying is a special technique that requires a lot of experience and practice. Here we work together with our regular Chrome sprayer. By means of this technique it is possible to chromium plating various materials such as plastics, wood, ceramics, glass, etc.
Is the spray chrome method suitable for outdoors?
For the Chrome exterior finish, it is recommended that an object be chromed completely traditionally. We do not recommend Chrome lacquer for this purpose as the lacquer will become dull in the long run and the shine cannot be guaranteed. Should you do so it is at your own risk.
Chrome spray paint is applied in 3 different steps:
Step 1: Base coat
A special base-coat is perfect primer for all substrates and provides an ideal surface for the chrome. The base-coat can be used on most substrates and is fast drying.
Step 2: Chrome plating
A solution is sprayed with a special spray gun. In the spray gun, the materials mix and react immediately. The reaction is a beautiful spray of chromium-metal, it draws over the base-coat of the object like an even film.
Step 3: Topcoat
Finally, a durable protective coating is applied to the reflective surface. Colors can be added to the basic transparent topcoat, making it possible to add color to the chrome-plated material.

* We are outsourcing this process to date. This means that we are dependent on another party. For chrome, there should be no urgency. We are working hard to bring this chrome plating process in-house in due course.
